The Winter of 79/80 was one of the driest on record.
The grapes were healty and envenly matured with high but not excessive sugar levels. In spite of some rapid
fermentations early in this Vintage, the must showed excellent colour and body.

Tasting Notes

" Medium to medium full-colour. Hints of maturity now, pretty but uncomplicated fruit. This is even in 1980 terms a bit slight, too much like a 1975.Perhaps the weakest, the most disappointing of all Fonseca´s, only average. Already ready." James Suckling, Vintage Port
